Family Dentistry In New Orleans, LA

What Is Family Dentistry?

Here at Dental Arts of New Orleans we are committed to treating patients of all ages by providing quality dental care to families located in the New Orleans area. Our goal as family dentists is to improve oral health by both prevention and treatment.

When practiced properly, it helps every family member achieve optimal oral health through consistent examinations and cleanings.

Whether you’re an adult or a child, regular visits to your dentist are essential for keeping your mouth in great condition. Here at Dental Arts of New Orleans we recommend our patients schedule at least two dental appointments each year.

There are many treatment options for patients seeking family dentistry in New Orleans. Some standard procedures we use in family dentistry include:

Your mouth is not always cleaned thoroughly during normal brushing and flossing because plaque (bacteria) hides between teeth and underneath fillings and crowns. During a professional cleaning, our trained dental hygienist removes all of these deposits with specialized tools and dental instruments. Scaling and polishing are performed at each cleaning in order to ensure all plaque and buildup are removed from your teeth.

Dental fillings restore teeth back to health when decay occurs. We only use tooth-colored fillings, also known as resin-composite, here at Dental Arts of New Orleans.

Dental crowns protect vulnerable teeth prone to fracture or are used to maximize esthetics on front teeth.

Porcelain veneers are extremely thin, hand-crafted, translucent ceramic shells that fit over the visible surfaces of your teeth.

These thin shells made out of porcelain are placed over a tooth for protection or to change its shape, size, color, and position while making them resistant to stains.

Why Should You See A Family Dentist?

There are various benefits of having a family dentist from Dental Arts of New Orleans, which include:

Visiting your family dentist can prevent oral health issues like cavities, periodontal disease, tooth decay, or oral cancer. Most people require restorative dental work at some point in their life. Visiting our Family Dentists at Dental Arts of New Orleans will set you up for success by providing preventative and conservative care early in life.

Having a dentist you can trust is vital particularly if you have complex needs or chronic conditions. Kids and adults alike tend to be very comfortable with their family dentist, so there is less anxiety during treatment sessions than at a new office or in front of a new professional. They are also familiar with the hygienist who will clean their teeth multiple times a year.

Regular visits to Dental Arts of New Orleans allow your child’s development and growth to be meticulously tracked over time. For example: did your child lose two baby teeth already? When did you give them fluoride for the first time? Was a filling necessary when they were four, or is that what we have planned next year at five? Are they ready for braces now, or should we continue to monitor their growth and development?
